The 1/2" to 5/8" Shaft Adapter for Bench Grinders is your go-to solution when it comes to adapting our Airway Buffing Wheels onto a bench grinder or pedestal-mounted polisher/grinder.
The centerplates of our Airway Buffing Wheels are made to fit a 5/8" arbor (typically on an angle grinder or rotary polisher), while bench grinders and polishers have a smaller 1/2" attachment shaft. This high-grade aluminum sleeve allows for a more secure fit, helping the buffing wheel to stay true during rotation despite the difference in arbor/attachment shaft sizes.
The 1/2" to 5/8" Shaft Adapter for Bench Grinders has a 1/2" inner diameter, a 5/8" outer diameter, and an overall length of 1".
Attaching the 1/2" to 5/8" Shaft Adapter for Bench Grinders:

Simply insert the 1/2" to 5/8" Shaft Adapter into the centerplate of your airway buffing wheel as shown below:

Mount the buffing wheel and adapter between a set of safety flanges as you normally would. Fasten the two flanges, adapter, and buffing wheel with your machine's lock nut, and you are ready to go.
